Diorama
I’m excited about this little project!
A personal project I worked on in my free time the last couple of weeks, I had the chance to explore more UE5 and practice a stylized look and FXs.
The reference is a painting painted by the main character of an anime (Blue Period). He represents “Bond” as metal that changes shape, since, for him, it comes in many forms. I really liked both the concept and the painting itself and it inspired me to recreate it in Unreal Engine. The only thing I changed was the central piece, which was meant to be a furnace, but I recreated it as a moulting sphere.
I tried to capture the stylized painting feel of the smoke and the molting sphere, contrasting it to the more realistic shading of the metal bars, an excuse to experiment with Lumen.
The reason why I rendered it in different aspect ratios it’s because I was curious to know if the composition worked only in the 4:5 format, and because I wanted to show off how organic the smoke FX is.
